Chokeberries are native to eastern North America. In the 19th century, they came to Russia, where people planted them in botanical gardens. At the beginning of the 20th century, a Russian botanist bred the trees. Then it began to be used as a fruit tree. Cultivation areas of this berry are today in Russia, Eastern Europe and to a lesser extent in Western Europe. Chokeberries can be eaten raw from the bush, but can also be processed. They can be found in wine, jam, syrup, juice, tea, sauce, appetizers, extracts, beer, ice cream, candies and tinctures. You can mix them very well with other fruits.
