Product description
Based on recent data and insights Elke Dag Basis is a carefully designed multi that is intended for young people who are healthy and live a healthy life, as a basic supplement to the diet. In its composition – as with all multis in the Every Day series – a choice has been made for easily absorbable substances, compound forms, and in responsible, balanced doses. Per nutrient, taking into account the average intake of young people and young adults. And taking into account estimated daily needs to support or promote optimal health. Very recent data and the latest insights have been used for this. What's special about Every Day Basic Every Day Basic contains responsible amounts of B vitamins. This also takes into account the extent to which the body is able to absorb and convert the various B vitamins, as well as the latest scientific insights. It uses the biologically active (co-enzymatic) forms of vitamins B2 (riboflavin-5'-phosphate), B6 (pyridoxal-5'-phosphate), B12 (methyl- and adenosylcobalamin) and folic acid (5-methyltetrahydrofolate glucosamine salt) . These are the forms as they are used by the body and research shows that they have a higher bioavailability. European government agencies have determined that the level for an adequate intake of vitamin D from food is 15 mcg. In the Netherlands they are still cautious and indicate that 10 mcg is sufficient. But Vitals assumes that higher doses are desirable. Every Day Basis therefore contains a generous dose of 20 mcg per tablet. Moreover, the source of this vitamin D3 is vegetable (Vitamin D3V®), and does not come from sheep's wool fat. The formula also contains 30 mcg of vitamin K1 and 60 mcg of vitamin K2. Vitamin K1 is mainly absorbed by the liver, while vitamin K2 is distributed much more among the body tissues. Vitamin K2 has a much higher bioavailability and is more effective in achieving optimal vitamin K status. Vitamin K is important for the blood clotting function, but vitamin K2 in particular is important for activating specific vitamin K-dependent enzymes that ensure that calcium ends up in the right place, in the bones. Vitamin K2 is also a sensitive substance. Particularly in combination with calcium and/or magnesium, the content of this vitamin in a tablet or capsule drops sharply. Vitals uses a high-quality K2 ingredient (K2Vital® Delta), which is stable even in a formula high in these minerals. It uses a patented microencapsulation process to protect the two-layer fat-soluble K2 particles from interacting with other ingredients. In this way it is guaranteed that the K2 content in Vitals products remains stable. A special feature of this multi is that it contains relatively high doses of calcium and magnesium. And the source of these minerals is also special: they are from the Aquamin® brand and come from the sea. The magnesium (Aquamin Magnesium) is obtained from the seawater of the Irish Sea and the calcium (Aquamin Calcium) comes from a red algae called Lithothamnium calcareum. This type of algae absorbs minerals and trace elements from the sea and stores them. Amino acid chelates (bisglycinates) have been chosen for the minerals iron, zinc, copper and manganese. Each mineral particle is strongly bound (chelated) to two molecules of the amino acid glycine. Minerals in this compound form reach the small intestine well and are absorbed very well.
