Heart Formula Pro contains a broad spectrum of active ingredients, providing optimal daily support. It is a carefully composed formula based on orthomolecular insights. For example, it contains vitamin B1 (thiamine-HCL) that has a beneficial effect on the heart. Vitamin B1 (thiamine) is essential as a coenzyme for energy production from carbohydrates. Since the heart mainly depends on carbohydrates for its energy supply, this vitamin supports the normal functioning of the heart. Vitamin B12 in the form of methylcobalamin is required for 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF, the biologically active form of folate) to convert homocysteine to methionine. In this way, vitamin B12 and folate together are good for homocysteine metabolism. After all, normal production and breakdown of homocysteine in the body is highly desirable. The vitamin B12 in this product consists of the two biologically active forms, methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin (also called dibencozide). In addition, a superior, biologically active form of folic acid is used: Quatrefolic®, 5-methyltetrahydrofolate bound to (vegetable) glucosamine salt. This is the most stable form of 5-MTHF in supplements and has the highest bioavailability. The advantage of these biologically active forms is that they are directly active in the body and do not have to be converted first. Vitamin D3 has many functions in the body, including a role in calcium metabolism. Vitamin D also supports normal muscle function. And of course the heart is also a muscle. The fat-soluble vitamin E is a very important antioxidant. It helps to protect the body's cells against oxidative damage by free radicals, and in this way contributes to the maintenance of healthy cells and tissues. Heart Formula Pro contains, in addition to vitamins, other special nutrients such as propionyl-L-carnitine and acetyl-L-carnitine. Both are forms of the amino acid L-carnitine and have advantages over supplementing with L-carnitine alone. Acetyl-L-carnitine (also called ALCAR) is the acetylated form and is the most well-known. The greatest concentration of carnitine is present in skeletal muscle and heart. Alpha lipoic acid is a sulfur-containing fatty acid, which occurs naturally in the human body. Alpha lipoic acid consists of a chain of eight carbon atoms, with two sulfur atoms attached to it. The two sulfur atoms are connected to each other, creating a ring structure. This ring structure makes alpha lipoic acid soluble in both fat and water, an important property. Alpha lipoic acid is a molecule found in the mitochondria of every cell. Q10 is a nutrient also found in the mitochondria. The fat-soluble compound is also called ubiquinone, which roughly translated means 'present everywhere'. Finally, Hart Formula Pro contains a generous dose of pine bark extract. Pine bark is naturally rich in phytonutrients such as proanthocyanidins (OPCs). Pine bark extract has an antioxidant effect and contributes to the protection of cells and tissues against free radicals. It also has a beneficial effect on blood circulation.
