Within dentistry, a support with chlorhexidine is regularly advised, such as in the case of periodontal treatments and before and after surgical procedures in the mouth and the placement of implants.
Due to the excellent anti-plaque properties of chlorhexidine, it is often referred to in the scientific literature as “the gold standard” for support in various indications.
The effectiveness of the Perio•Aid products is largely based on the active ingredient chlorhexidine. In addition to chlorhexidine, the Perio•Aid products contain the substance Cetylpyridinium Chloride (CPC), which also has an anti-plaque effect and thereby enhances the effect of chlorhexidine.
Many studies show that chlorhexidine is still one of the most effective substances in terms of oral efficacy. For this reason, Perio•Aid chlorhexidine is prescribed by many dentists, oral hygienists, periodontists, oral surgeons and implantologists to support dental treatments and/or improve oral hygiene.
Chlorhexidine support may also be indicated as an adjunct to or in certain cases to replace mechanical cleaning (brushing, flossing, and flossing), such as after oral surgery or when brushing is not possible.
Usage:
Can be used daily as toothpaste (1x to 2x a day). Also suitable in combination with the Interprox interdental brushes.
